EradifyerAO

This has long been an ambition of mine, but never really materialized until now. This Logo I actually feel qualifies as a visual representative of this blog, and ironically enough is partially composed of an object created in yet another Opensource design program: Incendia.

Incendia is a fractal generation program, yet it offered a feature I hadn’t found in any other fractal generation programs – easy .obj (3d mesh) output. Much of my artistic expression ends up going through Blender because it is such an incredible all-inclusive suite for anyone working in 2d or 3d.

Alone with Incedia, I was also exposed to another digital means of artistic extraction: MagicaVoxel. Unlike fractal generation programs I was expecting, this is more of a Minecraft-esk program, offering more in the way of direct 3d object manipulation, including vertice, edge, & face extrusion as well as extensive mirroring abilities. What impressed me even more though was the internal rendering API.

In the past, Depth-of-Field was something I only knew how to comprehend in Blender, but this interface was very rich and user-friendly. Furthermore, it has edge detection, material presets, and dynamic light-source based background customization. Hours of fun!

At present, I have a computer entirely dedicated to the task of rendering fractal frames for an animation in true HD. Due the the ambient occlusion and depth-of-field passes, I don’t anticipate this finishing for atleast another week. Stay tuned!

Dude, this is insane. Always jealous of people who are digitally gifted, I’ll definitely keep watching, best of luck! Might be good insurance to point an extra room fan at your tower lol I can’t imagine what level of system you need to render this.

    I suppose I didn’t check the system requirements for MagicaVoxel, but I will confirm I have a more-than-average rig…
